Description
During the summer season our Aldeburgh shop opens on Sundays. Aldeburgh gets very busy during the summer, so extra support is needed for various shifts throughout the week, even if you only have a couple of hours spare, you will be making a difference.
Our shops are the heart of the community and as a volunteer you would be part of a busy, friendly team. Retail volunteers provide general assistance in the shop and carry out duties such as sorting, pricing, displaying and selling mainly donated goods.
You will gain valuable skills, which look great on your CV or university applications, plus you get to work with a lovely team of volunteers, making new friends whilst raising valuable funds, which help to run the Hospice.
If you are interested in this vacancy, please complete the online application. Alternatively, you can contact the shop direct on 01728 454246 or pop in to say hello and arrange a taster session.
It is a requirement of your volunteering role that you attend a Welcome Day and Moving and Handling training session. The Welcome Day will give you an overview of the Hospice, its services and departments as well as giving you the opportunity to meet with members of staff and other volunteers. The afternoon is a Moving and Handling session giving guidance on a wide range of manual handling including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying.
